How to keep your work life balance

Balance is important in every aspect of life. Work should be your priority but it should never become a priority over your wellbeing. You need time and energy for your hobbies and interests, for your family and loved ones. You don't need to strive for the perfect schedule; strive for a realistic one. Some days, you might focus more on work, while others you might have more time and energy to pursue your hobbies or relax with your loved ones. Balance is achieved over time, not each day.



Understanding your schedule and planning accordingly is very helpful to attain balance. Your overall well being should be your main concern. If you've been struggling with anxiety or depression and think therapy would benefit you, fit those sessions into your schedule, even if it demands you to leave early from work.


If you hate what you do, you aren't going to be happy and satisfied. You can’t love every aspect of your job, but it needs to be exciting enough that you wake up happily. If your job is draining you and you are finding it difficult to do things that you love outside of work, then something is definitely wrong. Probably you may be working in a toxic environment, for a toxic person, or doing a job that you don't love. In this case, you need to change your surroundings.


Exercise to keep the mind fresh. A little morning walk, indulging in yoga or doing something creative which gives you peace and happiness is very crucial to sustaining in the modern world. Disconnect from digital life for a while and enjoy your own company. For new ideas to bloom you need to take breaks.


A healthy mind will yield better results. Success is a journey and the journey should be pleasant, peaceful and enjoyable.
